Book review: The Stalker by Sarah Alderson

Format: ebook

Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started reading this after reading a review by @pageturningpals_ and wish I could give her a firm handshake and a massive thank-you hug!

Excerpt from GR: Newly-weds Liam and Laura are spending their honeymoon in paradise: just the two of them on a remote island off the coast of Scotland. But they soon discover that all is not as it seems, and the island has a tragic past. And they can’t shake the feeling of being watched..

Pros:
🌸Starts off well, with a captivating beautifully creepy undertone.
🌸I was nervous the whole time and just cannot stop reading, I have to find out what happens next!
🌸Very clever writing style*heart eyes* that it felt like watching a GREAT THRILLER (movie)
🌸And OMG the twist!

Cons:
🤌Halfway into the book, I’m like.. come on now, what is actually going on. WHY?? WHAT?? WHO? Enough of the build up, let’s get to the point! *starts skimming through impatiently* (don’t worry, this doesn’t last very long because soon enough….)

Lesson learnt:
Never ever go to a completely isolated place especially if there’s a possibility that you cannot contact anyone once there.
